Machine operator

Responsibilities:

  • Activate and tune the machines for their start;
  • Ensure that we are following the processes of production and that machines work as per operational needs of the production;
  • Collaborate, if needed, in finding temporary solutions quickly in case of technical problems, keeping in mind not to stop the processes of production;
  • Identify, lift, fill and empty products when requested and needed;
  • Transfer products from bulk to bags and from bags to bulk;
  • Gather and manipulate raw materials and weigh them as we go along as per requested quantities;
  • Use utensils and industrial processes to cook, dry, cool down and flavor raw materials;
  • Verify temperature as per QA/QC recommendations;
  • Making sure all recipes are appropriately followed;
  • Do test to detect any allergen;
  • Respect the GMP, the mix of products required by our operations, ie: weight, qty, date, what is required, what is being package, the need to pass through metal detectors and what time to do so, all in conformity with the QA demands;
  • Verify at any given time, that we minimize the waste for raw materials and products, we need for the entire production of the product;
  • Package, manipulate, weigh and put inside boxes as per required for the product;
  • Prepare and collaborate withe the verification and expedition supervisor’s teams;
  • Sterilize, asepticize and clean in depth the machine used and room, while referencing any specific in the conformity registrar of QC;
  • Inspect and Verify the packaging products if required;
  • Do quality control on the production line with weight, PPC and vacuum packs and transcribe the result in the production log
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the production line, respect sanitation procedures and allergen requirements;
  • Contribute, by your attitude, to be working as a team;
  • Collaborate in the compliance and enforcement of company rules, policies and procedures as well as hygiene and sanitation, health and safety laws;
  • All tasks must always be done with Health and safety measures being respected;
  • Performs any other related duties related to the job if required by the immediate supervisor or production manager.

Base Requirements:

  • French or English (read, write and speak): intermediate level required
  • Professional diploma (DEP) or equivalent (an asset)
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in similar position;
  • Able to lift 55 lbs;
  • Rigor and meticulousness;
  • Knowledge of food production requirements;
  • Oriented towards quality work.
