Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Determines with the Senior Purchasing Director and implements purchasing, sourcing and development strategies for international and private brands
  • Negotiates product and commodity pricing, purchasing and supply terms
  • Organizes business reviews with suppliers
  • Analyzes categories and identifies opportunities
  • Keeps abreast of all market and industry developments
  • Works with the procurement team to optimize merchandise purchases, inventory management and product deliveries
  • Ensures velocity and shelf life of products in the warehouse
  • Research international products and commodities according to market needs                                                                                Participates in the development of the private label
  • Manages local purchasing for QC and collaborates on local purchasing in Ontario
  • Organizes national procurement synergies for QC and Ontario purchases
  • Establishes negotiation mandates in collaboration with Marketing and makes informed decisions based on his analysis
  • Collaborates with sales departments to support the needs of various customers
  • Participates in the evolution of purchasing processes to optimize business practices
  • Establishes price forecasts and market trends to identify and anticipate variations
  • Follows up on sales and revenues according to the company's objectives
  • Supervises and develops the Import Product Category Manager

The ideal candidate must:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Procurement or other relevant field
  • Have 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in purchasing and negotiations
  • Have a good knowledge of products and the food distribution environment
  • Excellent knowledge of marketing strategies
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Mastery of the office suite
  • Experience with SAP software, an asset
  • English and French required
